About the photograph:
Cordillera Negra has rocky peaks with very little winter snowfall, in contrast to the Cordillera Blanca, which is the most extensive tropical ice-covered mountain range in the world.
This was a last-minute, not well-known hike that my wife and I embarked on without tour guides.
This was probably one of the craziest hikes in my life so far, but it was worth it to get there.
